MAPS’s development is grounded in practical integration with vessels, uncrewed systems and operational tools. **Fraunhofer Digital Ocean Lab · Rostock** June 2026 TEVV connected two vessels and a BlueROV, mediating AIS, NMEA 2000, SonarDyne and SignalK data, with the drone (MAVLink) extension. **REPMUS 2026 · Portugal** MAPS provided mediation through its STANAG 4817 and TAK/CoT extensions for the Estonian delegation, connecting asset telemetry and digital tasking. It also demonstrated digital tasking from an AI agent using NATO standards. **IC 2026 - Canada**MAPS provided secure, multi-protocol mediation for six partners at IC26, using the STANAG 4817, STANAG 4559 and TAK/CoT extensions to integrate drone telemetry, ISR data and cyber-trust assessments into TAK C2 systems. Where does MAPS sit in our architecture? MAPS sits between data producers and consumers: on an asset, at a gateway, on an aggregation node or in your enterprise environment. It translates, processes and routes data as it passes through. Do we need a new application or common data model? MAPS mediates between the interfaces and schemas of your existing systems. Integration rules define the required mappings. You can keep your operational applications and their data models, subject to the interfaces they expose. What happens when a link goes down? Configure buffering, store-and-forward and replay to suit your workflow. Retention, priorities and catch-up behaviour should be agreed and tested against your operational requirements and available hardware. What should we bring to a scoping call? A source system, a receiving system, sample messages and the operational outcome you need. Include connectivity constraints and the criteria you would use to accept the integration.
